COVID-19 Important Information.
During the current outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are following government advice by taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of our staff and clients.
Our Stirling branch is temporarily closed, due to the impracticalities of social distancing at this location. Our Callander practice is currently operating (almost) as normal, Mon-Fri, 0830-1830.

ANYONE WISHING TO CONTACT US, INCLUDING STIRLING CLIENTS, PLEASE USE OUR CALLANDER NUMBER 01877 381213
.

At Callander we have introduced some extra safety measures:

  • Please call first to book an appointment at the practice and to discuss any queries, order medications etc. We purposefully stagger appointments to ensure we can dedicate enough time to each pet and limited staff numbers means we cannot accommodate drop-ins.

  • Anyone who is currently showing any symptoms, or living in the same household as anyone who is showing symptoms of covid-19, we kindly ask you to inform us when booking a consultation so we can advise you on how best to proceed
  • Only pets & staff are currently allowed inside the premises (with exceptions for euthanasia, see below). When you arrive for your consultation please knock on the front door / ring the doorbell to alert a member of staff, who will instruct you on the process from there.

  • Your consultation will take the form of a ‘live chat’  (telephone call) with the vet, so please take a mobile phone with you and stay off the line when your pet is taken into the practice as the vet will be contacting you.

  • Please respect a 2m distance when talking to a member of staff in person.
  • Please ensure cats & small animals are brought to the practice in a secure carrier. To minimise direct contact we will ask you to place carriers on the ground and step back before a member of staff comes forward to get them and we don’t want any opportunistic escapees!

  • We are asking payments to be made by card and over the phone to minimise contact, but will accept cash if more convenient for you

Euthanasia:
Saying goodbye to a beloved companion is difficult at the best of times. In recognition of this, euthanasia is the only exception to our ‘no entry’ rule for clients. Additional covid-19 safety measures apply;

    • We have a large reception area where we can maintain social distancing
    • Staff will be masked and we please ask that you do the same.
    • Maximum of two people to accompany the pet into the practice
    • Please make use of the hand sanitiser available (ask staff if not on display)
    • The vet will administer an initial sedation to your pet, during which time we ask you maintain a respectful distance from your pet and the vet.
    • After the sedation has been administered you can return to your pet’s side and spend those final moments together. The final injection will be administered when you are comfortable to leave your pet in our care and after you have left the practice

Repeat prescriptions:

  • Please phone to order repeat medication so we can have it dispensed and ready for collection. This will enable us to minimise the length of your visit.
  • We ask for AT LEAST 48-72 hours notice when ordering medications to give us adequate time to order and prepare it. PRODUCTION AND DELIVERY OF SOME MEDICATIONS HAS BEEN AFFECTED BY THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THE AVAILABILITY OF MEDICATIONS AT SHORT NOTICE

These are challenging times for everyone. The measures we have implemented are designed to protect clients and staff whilst enabling us to continue to provide the best service that we can to both you and your pet. In the face of government restrictions, professional guidelines, stock disruption and other obstacles we are continually having to adapt and modify our practice.

We appreciate the frustrations some people may feel but be assured the health & welfare of your animal companions is paramount to us and is at the heart of everything we do. Your patience and understanding means a great deal to us.

Take care and all the best
